On 19 June 2024, students of ecotrophology (HAW Hamburg) once again wielded the cooking spoons in Mensa Bergedorf and went through the entire process of communal catering for a day. This year's traditional "Students cook for students" event, which was held under the motto "Childhood Dreams - From the screen to the plate", offered spectacular, almost exclusively vegan dishes and delicious dessert variations.
The budding nutritionists took over Mensa Bergedorf from the early hours of the morning, from planning the menu and product range to preparing the food and serving it, right through to cleaning. The project took place as part of a seminar at the Faculty of Life Sciences at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) under the direction of Prof Dr Ulrike Pfannes and in close cooperation with the canteen manager Marco Drevs. These exclusively vegan dishes were served from 11.15 am to 2.30 pm:
