Digital training of the sponsor Wintershall Dea

What valuable contribution do different cultures make to our everyday lives? How to deal with stereotypes and prejudices? Which methods help unterstanding other cultures?

On June 13, 2023, the scholarship holders of the Hamburg Stipendium discussed these and other questions during a digital training session on the topic of "intercultural competencies" organized by our sponsor Wintershall Dea. This also sharpened the scholarship holders' self-perception and perception of others with regard to their own personality and culture.

"The training showed me how important and enriching different cultures are for our everyday lives. Using various examples, it became clear that a culture is not only what we perceive at first glance, but that it is multi-layered and its values can be found at the center. I took away from the training how important it is to get to know new people and cultures and to build relationships without forgetting one's own culture." - Koffi Vivien Gnadjro, Hamburg Stipendium scholarship holder

"As part of my studies in metropolitan culture, I am dealing a lot with the topics of cultural diversity and social diversity. The training gave me many new impressions and in-depth knowledge that will help me in my studies but also in private situations. I particularly liked the self-reflection on the question "Where do I stand in dealing with other cultures?" - Duygu Köysürenbars, Hamburg Stipendium scholarship holder

“We have to offer people a fair option to integrate their skills into this society. Also, to counter the shortage of skilled workers. This programme enables equal participation, because that is the strength of an open and diverse society, which Wintershall Dea is committed to!” - Michael Sasse, SVP Corporate Communications bei Wintershall Dea

We would like to thank our sponsor Wintershall Dea for organizing and conducting the training!
