Daycare centres and flexible childcare services
Go in small - come out big

Each of our daycare centres - Kita KinderCampus, Kita Bornstraße, Kita Hallerstraße, Integrative Kita UKE and the Integrative Kita "Die Stifte" - has an individual profile. We are united by our pedagogical guidelines, which you will find in all of our daycare centers.
In some daycare centers, we offer supplementary care outside of regular opening hours to meet your childcare needs.

Profile and pedagogical concept of the daycare centres
This is important to us

Studierendenwerk Hamburg has many years of experience in the field of daycare for children.

In all facilities, educational specialists care for the children in a way that complements the family, gives them a sense of security and promotes their holistic development.

We ...

  • are geared to the special needs of students and employees of higher education institutions, both in terms of location and admission conditions.
  • accept children all year round.
  • are linked to the daycare voucher system and follow the Hamburg educational recommendations.
  • are members of the PARITÄTischen Hamburg e.V. quality association for daycare centres through the Studierendenwerk and are certified in the PQ-Sys quality procedure.
  • attach importance to a gentle settling-in process and offer your child trust and security through reliable, qualified caregivers.
  • see parents as our partners in terms of the child's well-being and value a trusting, reliable relationship with them
  • see children as actors in their development and want to encourage and support them in the best possible way, stimulate self-education processes and give educational impulses.
  • offer targeted pre-school work according to the quality criteria of the Kita-Brückenjahr.
  • design lively educational projects on topics relevant to the future.
  • offer a healthy breakfast prepared jointly by teachers and children. Attention is paid to the use of regional and seasonal food as well as regional suppliers and producers.
  • have an attractive outdoor area, which is designed according to a nature-oriented concept.

Free daycare places

We regularly have students who move to a new location after finishing their studies due to work-related reasons, which means that a place in your preferred daycare centre becomes available sooner than expected. Therefore, you are welcome to ask the daycare management regularly

Successful external evaluation Kitearo
Certificate from the Institute for Education, Research and Development in Pedagogy (KITEARO)

At its own request, an external evaluation of ‘KITEARO’ was carried out at the KinderCampus daycare centre in June 2024.

During the evaluation, the requirements from the Hamburg educational recommendations and the quality management system PQ Sys Kindertageseinrichtungen Hamburg ® are assessed. The evaluators reflect the quality of implementation of the underlying requirements, confirm achievements, highlight strengths and identify opportunities for development. The evaluators make factual and context-related recommendations for the further development of the processes, so that the external evaluation complements the internal quality development and quality assurance process After a joint tour of the daycare centre, a discussion took place involving the head of the department, the daycare centre management and the specialist consultant on topics specific to the provider such as child protection, health protection and dealing with the shortage of specialist staff. Discussions were held with both our teaching staff and two parent representatives to enquire about processes and satisfaction from both an internal and external perspective.

The results of the external evaluation were very pleasing: the KinderCampus daycare centre was judged to be of high quality at all levels. The evaluation emphasised particularly positively that the daycare centre adapts well to the special needs of student parents. The colleagues were confirmed as having particular expertise in the familiarisation phase. The cooperation and good communication with parents during door-to-door talks was also mentioned. It was also positively noted that the provider gives the daycare centre strong support, but at the same time gives the daycare management and educational staff plenty of scope for their own decisions and co-determination.

We are delighted with this great result and would like to thank everyone involved!

We asked the parents of our daycare centre children!
Parent survey

How satisfied are the parents of our daycare centre children with the care they receive in the daycare centres? -How are the daycare centre services perceived?

The Studierendenwerk wanted to know exactly and commissioned an external market research institute to survey parents in 2023.

The parents gave the daycare centres an excellent report card with good (in some cases very good) results:

  • Play in the fresh air, for example, was seen as very important and given an excellent rating of 1.73 (school grading scale 1 to 5). Free play in the group and the development of independence also received a good rating of 1.53 and 1.88 respectively for their implementation in the daycare centres.
  • Parents are also highly satisfied with the respectful treatment of the children (1.56) and the familiarisation process at the beginning (1.64).
  • There is potential in terms of information about further counselling and childcare services offered by the Studierendenwerk. The Studierendenwerk is working on implementing measures to ensure that the information reaches even more parents.
  • The daycare centre team was very pleased with the high level of appreciation from parents, which is reflected in the open comments in the survey:
