Blattwerk – deine vegetarische Mensa

In the ‘Blattwerk’, booths, a lounge corner and a meeting point invite you not only to eat, but also as a meeting place for cosy relaxation or learning.

Let yourself be surprised by the exclusively vegetarian and vegan dishes. Another highlight on Tuesdays and Thursdays is homemade fresh pasta straight from the pan at the fresh food point. Right next to the soup counter you will find the front cooking area - here you can get your food straight from the wok or grill on selected days. And for those with a sweet tooth, we have many new vegan desserts on offer. Happy hour starts 15 minutes before the food counter closes, when you can get all self-service meals at half price (salad bar, pasta bar, vegetable bar, desserts, soups).

This cafeteria is barrier-free and offers tray trolleys for wheelchair users. There are also highchairs for our youngest guests.

The animal rights organisation PETA regularly awards prizes to particularly vegan-friendly canteens in Germany. In both 2023 and 2024, ‘Blattwerk - deine vegetarische Mensa’ received 4 stars, the highest award for vegan-vegetarian establishments. This honours our commitment to vegan nutrition in university catering.

The plant therefore aligns university catering with an intact environment, which is the basis for economic, social and cultural development. Thus, for you, we prefer a mix of organic, fair, species-appropriate and regional food and a conscious supply and production chain.
