Helping international students get started in Hamburg
The Welcome Tutor Programme and its team of tutors want to make it easier for international students to get started in Hamburg, support their integration in the residential complexes and promote dialogue between international and German students.
We tutors want to make international students feel welcome. To this end, we support the students on the first day of moving in and are already approachable before their arrival.
We offer assistance with questions about living, studying and working. We help with language problems, official matters and are always the contact person in the residence. Even if there are problems with the internet, e-mail or skype - welcome tutors and internet contact persons support and help.
We are also curious about what the residents can tell us about their country of origin and their culture. In many of the Studierendenwerk's halls of residence, there are tutors as direct contact persons for international students. The tutors are particularly familiar with the questions and problems of international students.
