An important topic in the quality management of our day-care centres is "Education for Sustainable Development". The idea behind this is to enable children to think and act in a sustainable way, i.e. to develop an awareness of nature in the children and to teach them the consequences of their own handling of resources. Since last year, this point is new in the quality management PQ-Sys of the Paritätischen, which the STW Kitas use. In the course of this, we are looking at how we can also make the management and procurement for the day-care centres more sustainable. The first area is the changeover of cleaning agents to more sustainable products. Next, we look at the purchase of play materials and educational materials. This will be followed by other areas such as room furnishings, craft and office materials. A test run with a new supplier of cleaning materials will soon take place with one day-care centre, followed by an evaluation and, if reasonable, expansion to all day-care centres.
