Our apprenticeships

and why you should come to us!

We have been providing training since 1983 and will make you fit for the future. We have our expertise in training:

• through our qualified trainers
• the training management team, which is responsible for the coordination & administration of dual training and drives the strategic development of dual training & represents us in education policy committees
• our personnel development department, which supports our trainees with customised and tailored further training as an extension of school-based training
• our trainee contact persons in the specialist departments and, of course, our specialists who supervise and train our trainees on a daily basis

We are proud of our training and even more so of our trainees. And rightly so!

• Our apprentice Mustafa Karaaslan was in the final round for Apprentice of the Year in 2020. You can see what he says about his apprenticeship at Studierendenwerk in the video here.
• Our former apprentice Antonia Gerdau passed her journeyman's examination at the Hamburg Painters‘ and Varnishers’ Guild as the best performer and is also one of the 100 best apprentices in the painting and varnishing trade in Germany thanks to her outstanding academic achievements.
• Another great achievement: our former apprentice Freya Spitzer won the excellence medal for far above-average performance at EuroSkills 2023.

If you have completed vocational training, you have good chances on the labour market. And there are also opportunities to be taken on by the Studierendenwerk if you show commitment during your training.

Of course, the training can be shortened if, for example, you have completed secondary commercial school or have a high school diploma. A shortening is also possible after the start of training if it can be expected that the training objective will be achieved in the shortened time.

1. The right time
   Training with us starts in August. Exceptions to this are the catering apprenticeships and the part-time apprenticeship to become an educator, where it is also possible to start in February. However, we are looking for trainees well in advance. So don't wait until you have your degree in your pocket. Apply about a year before you want to start your apprenticeship.
2. Check out our company
   Check out our social media channels, such as Youtube or Instagram. Interesting posts and videos will give you a first impression of Studierendenwerk and you will get to know some of our trainees.
3. Is the right profession for you?
   We offer training in 6 different professions, but is there the right one for you? Find out here.
4. Your application
   Our application portal gives you the opportunity to upload your application quickly and easily. Don't hide your light under a bushel and send us your application with a cover letter, your CV and your most recent school reports. Do you also have job and internship references? - Send them along!

Anything that presents you well in terms of your motivation or skills is an advantage.
