How the Studierendenwerk works
The bodies of the Studierendenwerk are the Representatives' Assembly, the Supervisory Board and the Management.
The Representatives' Meeting is the body of the Studierendenwerk that decides on fundamental matters, in particular the statutes. The catalogue of tasks of the Representatives' Assembly includes all central decisions for the Studierendenwerk, the enactment of statutes and the contribution regulations as well as the appointment and dismissal of the management and the members of the Supervisory Board. The meetings of the Representatives' Assembly are generally open to the public.
The Supervisory Board shall be composed of persons who are qualified to perform its supervisory function in economic and financial matters. An essential task of the Supervisory Board is to monitor the implementation of the economic plans on the basis of the strategy adopted by the Representatives' Assembly and to ensure that financial risks and undesirable economic developments are avoided. The meetings of the Supervisory Board are generally not open to the public.
The management has a central role in the fulfilment of the Studierendenwerk's tasks. It is fully responsible for the fulfilment of operational tasks and prepares the strategic decisions of the Studierendenwerk.
